The chapter president is elected annually with a two-year term limit. It is the president’s duty to report to NSHMBA national. The president develops a strategic plan, goals and deadlines for the chapter during the year. In addition, lead monthly board meetings to discuss the chapter’s progress and direction.

The position of Executive Co-Vice Presidents is to support the president in ensuring that his/her overall strategy for the board goals is implemented. The Executive Co-Vice Presidents audit the chapter budget quarterly and create board reports monthly. Furthermore, this officer will be the acting chapter president in the event that the chapter president resigns, is removed or is unable to fulfill their job responsibilities. The Executive Co-Vice Presidents are elected annually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit.

The secretary is elected biannually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit. It is the responsibility of the secretary to take and distribute board minutes within one week of a meeting. It is also important to provide the board agenda for meetings and prepare certificates of appreciation and gifts for partner organizations, event sponsors, speakers and exiting board members.

The chapter Membership Chair is responsible for creating plans, managing and carrying out activities designed to deepen the value of the membership for both institutions and individuals, including growth and retention strategies. As well as forming a committee to plan and leverage events to increase membership. This position is elected biannually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit.

The main objective of the Education Chair is to conduct Pre-MBA informational sessions, chapter workshops, speaker events and training sessions to meet professional development needs of members. Additionally, register attendees and issue CPE Credits and Certificates to benefit members. It is important for the Education Chair to manage relationships with colleges and universities to ensure their participation in events. The Education Chair is a one-year term with a two-year limit that is elected biannually.

The position of the Professional Development Chair is to work with the corporate development chair to match corporate sponsors with the calendar of events. Collaborate with corporate groups to plan and implement their sponsored events based on a standardized format. Election of this position is biannually with a one-year term and a two-year term limit.

The Community Relations Officer is an essential part of the team by managing relationships with community organizations, and when appropriate, making certain their collaboration and participation with NSHMBA. In addition, the Community Relations Officers hold the leadership of the community boards accountable for their commitments to NSHMBA. This position is elected biannually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit.
Corporate Relations Officers - Karen Flores Karen.flores@ambrion.com The responsibility of the Corporate Relations Officers is to fund raise for the local chapter and the donation made to the national conference. It is also a top responsibility to be the primary liaison for corporate sponsors and corporate team member resource groups as well as solicit corporate memberships. The Corporate Relations Officers are elected biannually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit.

The National Conference Chairs is a unique position created this year to assist in the NSHMBA National Conference hosted here in Minnesota. This officer works in tandem with the Corporate Development Chair to engage local companies to participate and sponsor the national conference. Furthermore, work to promote the event to local colleges and ensure that sister groups are supportive and engaged in the conference. Advise national on local feedback, speakers, topics, resources and other ideas to make the 2009 National Conference a bigger success. This position is only open when the national conference is hosted in Minnesota.

The Marketing Chair is responsible for promoting NSHMBA at the local level and assisting the chapter President in securing local media coverage for chapter initiatives. Additionally, develop local promotional materials including quarterly newsletters, invitations and postcards. Coordinate the utilization of the national marketing materials to maximize their impact and produce the local marketing materials to promote the chapter events. The Marketing Chair is elected biannually for a one-year term and a two-year term limit.
